Gov. Bev Perdue on Wednesday said in her mind, she’s already found a way to bridge most of the state’s projected $3.7 billion budget gap.
“In my mind, I’ve gotten us down to about $900 million,” Perdue told a group of reporters gathered at the Executive Mansion for year-end interviews.
She didn’t give details. When pressed further, she jokingly said she wasn’t going to have any more enemies before the holidays.
She did say that everything was on the table. However, on a couple of occasions, she mentioned that she really wanted to protect the classroom in kindergarten through third grade.
