The General Assembly has left town until Nov. 7, when lawmakers could be called back to the state capital to address any lingering redistricting problems, along with a handful of other issues.
But wait. Stories in the Wilmington StarNews suggest that there is a potential for a special session to consider incentives for a company to locate in Brunswick County.
The company, code-named Project Soccer, would bring about 1,500 jobs to the region, according to the story.
Rep. Susi Hamilton, D-New Hanover, says a special session will be needed, but House Speaker Thom Tillis, R-Mecklenburg said one wouldn’t be necessary, the newspaper reported.
